Kid Country

Your children will find a class designed just for their ages where they'll be cared for and accepted. They'll learn how much God loves them through stories, music, media and activities. When you arrive on Sunday, come to the Visitor Center and we'll help you find the right classroom for your child. (If your child is under three, there's a Visitor Center dedicated just to them on the lower level of the Pavilion.) We follow strict measures to make sure Kid Country is safe and secure for your children.

Early Childhood (birth-two years)

The volunteers in our infant classrooms make certain that the babies are loved and that their needs are cared for each Sunday. To ensure these little ones receive the best care, we adhere to a one-volunteer-to-every-two-children ratio in our infant and crawler classrooms. We have the important job of demonstrating God’s love to the babies by caring for them and their needs. In order for you and your baby to have a great experience, please bring diapers, pre-mixed bottles, pacifiers and any special blankets that will soothe your baby through the morning. Please make certain to label all items. We also have a comfortable nursing mother’s lounge for your convenience. Children in our youngest classrooms are promoted to new classes based on development. When children begin to crawl, they will move up to a crawler room, and when they start walking we will move them up to an early walker room. We will communicate with you when these changes need to be made. We begin teaching a Bible story in our toddler classrooms. Our goal is to teach every child that God made them, God loves them and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. Our activities are age-appropriate, leaving room for flexibility due to the needs of the children. We offer music, crafts, snack, Bible stories and playtime. For these older classes, we adhere to a ratio of one volunteer to every three children in order to enhance each child’s experience.

Preschool (three years-kindergarten)

Classes are available that your preschooler will enjoy during both services on Sunday. We believe that, even at this young age, children can begin to experience the love God has for them. Each week we teach Bible stories that are enhanced by crafts, Scripture memory and fun activities that are sure to touch the life of your child. We also have an enclosed outside play area that gives the children a chance to run off some of the wiggles and energy that comes with this age. We are blessed to have loving teachers who commit to teach the whole year. Several of our teachers have taught for many years, so they are very seasoned in knowing how to reach this age of children for Jesus. They make church a lot of fun. Please come and check us out. We love being able to partner with you in training up your children in the Lord and teaching spiritual truths for them to carry throughout their lives.

Early Elementary (grades 1-2)

During the 9 am service Early Elementary children meet in Sunday school class according to grade. These classes are designed to introduce kids to the day’s Bible topic in a setting that gives them individualized attention from their teachers and plenty of interaction with their peers. Children learn how to live like Jesus as they discuss real-life experiences, interact with peers and participate in a variety of activities that appeal to different learning styles. Life application, memory verse activities and prayer are always a part of this hands-on time. During the 10:45 am service children attend Harpo Avenue. This interactive large-group setting is designed to engage children in the day’s Bible topic and includes live drama, music and puppets. As in the 9 am service, life application, memory verse activities, prayer and games are a part of each morning. Those children who attended their 9 am class are escorted to the Social Hall by Kid Country helpers and can be picked up after the service in the Social Hall. Those children who only come for the 10:45 am service may be dropped off in the Social Hall.

Tweenagers (grades 3-5)

During the 9 am service, tweenagers meet in a team based on grade and gender. These small groups are designed to introduce kids to the day’s Bible topic in a setting that gives them individualized attention from their leader and plenty of interaction with a small group of their peers. The students learn how to live like Jesus as they discuss real-life experiences, interact with this close-knit group of peers and participate in a variety of activities that appeal to different learning styles. Life application, memory verse activities and prayer are always a part of this hands-on time. During the 10:45 am service tweenagers attend Worship The Rock. This interactive large-group setting is designed to encourage students to worship like Jesus and includes music, prayer and an innovative approach to the Bible story. As in the 9 am service, the day’s topic, life application, memory verse activities and games are a part of each morning.

Before kids leave 5th grade, we want them to understand three basic truths:

Faith—I can trust God no matter what
Wisdom—I need to make the wise choice
Friendship—I should treat others the way I want to be treated
